Plant Story
This small species grows a white latex and yellowish flowers. When its fruits ripen, they become reddish, are covered by soft hairs, and are consumed by birds and arboreal mammals. The species grows in humid forests, and has been recorded from Costa Rica to Bolivia; in Costa Rica, it grows along the Atlantic slope and in the South Pacific region.
Historia de la planta
Esta especie es un árbol de tamaño pequeño, posee látex blanco en toda la planta. Las floraciones son amarillentas, los frutos maduran rojizo, están cubiertos por unos pelos suaves y son consumidos por aves y mamíferos arbóreos. Crece en bosques húmedos y muy húmedos, se conoce desde Costa Rica hasta Bolivia, en Costa Rica se da en la vertiente atlántica y en el pacífico sur.
