Plant Story
This species grows up to 20 or 30 meters. Its trunk has a highly flammable and aromatic resin. Its yellowish flowers are likely pollinated by insects, especially bees, and its fruits are very resinous and aromatic, growing smooth and green though turn reddish when ripe. This species grows in mature, humid forests and is known from southern Mexico to Panama; in Costa Rica it is found along both the Atlantic and Pacific slopes.

Protium glabrum es una especie de hasta 20 o 30 metros de alto, su tronco posee una resina muy inflamable y aromática. Las flores son amarillentas, probablemente polinizadas por insectos, en especial abejas, los frutos son muy resinosos y aromáticos, lisos, verdes y tornándose rojizos al madurar. Crece en bosques maduros de clima húmedo a muy húmedo, se conoce desde el sur de México hasta Panamá, en Costa Rica se encuentra en ambas vertientes.
