Plant Story

This short tree reaches only 12 meters and is known for its fruits, which resemble that of a common lychee and are dispersed by animals. Its flowers are pollinated by bees, and its wood is used for fence posts or firewood. It is distributed from Costa Rica to South America. In Costa Rica, it grows along the Pacific slope between 10-300 meters above sea level.

Talisia macrophylla es un árbol de porte bajo que alcanza hasta 12 metros de altura se le conoce  así  por sus frutos que asemejan al mamón criollo, mismos que son dispersados por animales. Sus flores son polinizadas por abejas. Su madera es utilizada para postes de cerca o para leña. Se distribuye desde México hasta Brasil, en Costa Rica principalmente en la vertiente del pacífico entre 10 a 300 metros de elevación.
